Cake. What more can I say? Everyone knows what cake is, but not everyone has followed a cake recipe and baked one from scratch before. The enhanced flavour and texture of a home-baked cake is unrivalled and the joyous satisfaction that comes with a successful bake has to be experienced at least once in your life.
Baking from scratch means that you know exactly what has gone into it. The ingredients will be the freshest and best quality you can afford and as you don’t need to store it on a shelf for weeks – or even months (!) – there will be no additives or preservatives to question. In my humble opinion, it is for these very reasons that I believe that cakes are truly good for the soul!
Alongside the odd apple cake recipe and retro pineapple cake recipe, I’ll be posting lots of Birthday cake pictures. I’ve made a lot of Birthday cakes over the past few years and I’m looking forward to sharing the photographs of these. I’d love to see your creations, too…Pop over my Birthday Cake Pictures page and share your favourites with the group!
Have you been searching the web for Carrot Cake Recipes? My recipe has been tried and tested and comes highly recommended! I’ll also be sharing other favourite recipes such as my ever-popular chocolate sheet cake recipe and a classic Victoria sponge recipe.
I think that’s enough cake talk for now… here are the recipes:
Quick to bake, this delicious swiss roll recipe can easily be adapted into a simple chocolate swiss roll by leaving out the orange flavourings. Swiss rolls are made with a fatless sponge and they get their volume by whipping the eggs for a good 10 minutes.
An easy carrot cake recipe which has been tested on all my friends and family! The all-in-one method means it is super simple to make and delivers a delicious, full flavoured, moist carrot cake ready to share.
A collection of photographs of some of the Birthday cakes I have made over the years.
